What Is My Memories Software? Check Out My Review!

When was the last time you had the time to sit down and put together a scrapbook? Okay, how about just one page of a scrapbook? I used to enjoy scrapbooking when I had the time to do it. I wasn’t the best scrapbooker in the world, but I wasn’t too shabby either. It’s been about a year and a half since I’ve added anything to my scrapbooks. With a rambunctious toddler and hyper little min-pin running around my house, I rarely have the time – and when I do, I don’t have the patience!

Sure it’s not exactly the same as doing it all by hand, but I miss being able to create cool pages to display in my scrapbooks and this software has shown me a much quicker way to do that. It’s scrapbooking for busy mommas like me and it is ridiculously easy to do!

Seriously. I am a quick learner, but this software didn’t take me more than a few minutes to figure out. I downloaded it, saw it pop up on my screen and started going through all of the templates that accompanied the software. Once I decided which one I wanted to use, I got right to work and had completed eight pages in about an hour. I remember looking at the little clock on my computer and thinking, “Wow! It’s only been an hour? This would have taken me at least three hours before – and there’s no mess to clean up! Woohoo!”

My Memories Gets the Approval of My Biggest Scrapbook Critic!

I was proud of my eight scrapbook pages, but I wanted to see what someone else thought of them, so I called in the critic. Yes, my stepdaughter. She and her grandmother are scrapbooking queens – her grandmother has been teaching her this hobby for years. When they get together, they break out the Cricut, get out the ribbons, scissors, fabric assortments and more fancy-schmancy stuff than I would know what to do with and go to town on some scrapbook pages. Would this program be considered blasphemy to a die-hard scrapbooker?

Nope!

She loved it! Not only was she impressed with the pages that I created, she couldn’t believe how quickly I created them. Of course, she had to sit down and make a few pages herself. It took her all of ten minutes to tell me that she now wants the software for her laptop. That’s something I didn’t prepare for, so I might have to do that as a Christmas gift. If she gets good grades first quarter, maybe we can work something out so that she can get it sooner. Goodness gracious, I may have tainted the child against traditional scrapbooking forever! Her grandmother is going to ring my neck…or hijack my software!

While she was checking out the actual My Memories website, I pointed out all of the cool, totally free digital scrapbook kits that could be downloaded. There are loads of them! You all know what a penny pincher I am, so of course I’m going to be taking advantage of those. I can’t even begin to imagine how much money I’m going to save on scrapbook materials! That’s a bonus because money kept in the pocket makes the hubby happy, too!

Check out this page I made earlier today. This is going to go in the scrapbook I’m making for my son. I know, I know; I get carried away with the embellishments. I can’t help myself! There’s so much that I want to express in every page I create that it’s hard for me to go with a more minimal look.
