Beanfields Review and Giveaway

Interested in Going Gluten-free? If So, This Beanfields Review is for You!

There are a great deal of people jumping on the gluten-free bandwagon these days, so I want to tell you about a product that I recently had the opportunity to try, thanks to The Pitch List – Beanfields Snacks. Beanfields chips are free of corn, dairy, gluten, GMO’s and soy, but that’s not the only bonus. The main ingredient in these chips is farmed right here in the U.S.A. and the chips are made here as well!

About Beanfields Chips

Beanfields is a company that focuses on quality, healthful snack foods. Unlike most snack chips, these are not made with corn or potatoes. Instead, they are made with black beans, navy beans, long grain rice and either safflower or sunflower oil. I found that very interesting, as I know that beans are considered not only a staple, but a very healthy one.

I received full-size bags of Nacho, Pico De Gallo, Sea Salt, Sea Salt & Pepper, and Naturally Unsalted chips. I also received 2 snack-size bags of Nacho and Pico De Gallo chips. Because I had never tried these before, I opted to start my sampling with the snack-sized bags. I opted to try the Nacho flavored chips first. They were surprisingly crispy and flavorful. In fact, they weren’t nearly what I had expected.

Hmm…maybe I should tell you that I’ve had bad experiences with recipes substituting beans for the typical ingredient. For instance, my mother decided to make some brownies that were more diet-friendly. I’m usually game for trying new foods, so I figured, “Why not?” My grandmother tried to warn me, but I told her they couldn’t be that bad. Ha! Was I wrong! I took a big bite and started chewing. Now, in the recipe’s defense, my mother is not the best cook in the world, though she has dramatically improved over the years. I imagine that has something to do with not having to attempt to corral three children while she’s cooking dinner anymore. Yet, the fact remains that those brownies were absolutely terrible. I had to spit it out…then I had to wash my mouth out because I couldn’t shake the taste.

Anyway, the Beanfields chips were not horrible at all. I was thankful that they were not only edible, but actually quite enjoyable. My stepdaughter and son, both extremely picky children, even tried them and helped me finish off the Nacho chips. Of course, my favorite flavor was the Pico De Gallo. Those were fabulous and I only had to share a few out of the bag with the kids!

What I liked about Beanfields

I liked that Beanfields chips are healthier than the typical snack chip. One serving is one ounce, which is roughly 140 calories. The total fat in one serving is 6 grams, but the total dietary fiber is 4 grams and the total protein is 4 grams. That’s a big difference when compared to a serving of potato chips!

The fact that these chips are gluten-free is a nice bonus, as I notice that I feel better after eating foods like this. This is great for people with gluten intolerance, celiac disease or those that are trying to make healthier choices for their diet. Another great thing about these chips is that the ingredients are grown in the United States and the product is made in the United States. I think that’s fabulous! Yes, I LOVE American made products.
