Make it Monday

I love decorating my walls with my kids art work. One of my favorite art projects that we have done was actually really simple and a lot of fun.

Here is what you will need:

  • Large poster board, you can use any type, but the thicker ones made out of foam or card board work best. I try to stock up on these whenever I find them on sale. You can use any color that you like, we chose black and white.
  • Paint: watered down so that it will run
  • Large area where a mess can be made

What to do:

This is kind of a messy project, so make sure that you are ready for it. We did ours outside on the driveway. If you do it indoors I would lay down newspaper or a large tablecloth so that your floor or table does not get messy.

Give your child/children a poster board and some of the watered down paint. This was a trial and error for us because when we first started the paint was too thick.

Have your child pour paint on the board and then pick it up and move it around. They can use as many or few colors as they would like. The finished project will be unique and look like a splatter type painting.

My boys both had a blast doing this project. They each did one of their own and then combined their efforts on a third.  20130701_121415 20130701_121408
