Best Buy Mobile

With technology moving at warp speed, it seems like most of us are just trying to keep up. Of course, that means that you’re probably upgrading your phone at least every 2 years – maybe even every year! What do you do with all of those perfectly good phones that you’re left with? Do you shove them in a drawer? Give them to your little ones to play with?

The good news is that I found out about a really awesome program from Best Buy Mobile that rewards you for those old cell phones you might still have laying around in a drawer at home. Believe it or not, that 2-year old cell phone you have might still be worth something! Trade in your old phone and get up to $200* back at Best Buy Mobile specialty stores. Find a store near you:

My personal experience…

When I found out about the Best Buy Mobile trade-in program, the timing was perfect. I had just become eligible for an upgrade through my carrier and had taken advantage of it, so I had a Blackberry Torch 9800 that was in almost perfect condition, aside from two scratches on the outer portion of the casing. Everything still worked perfectly. In fact, I kind of missed the phone. Still, I didn’t want it just sitting around, so I decided to look it up and see how much it was worth. In good condition? $70.00! Yes, I had the opportunity to get a $70.00 Best Buy gift card just for turning in my old phone that A.) I was no longer using and B.) Would just be more clutter in my home or something else for my son to tear apart.

Translation: WOOT!!!

I had no idea they did this EVERYDAY!

What did I do?

I went to Best Buy Mobile!

I handed over my old phone to Carlos, the nice gentleman behind the counter. He checked out my phone, gave me a price (I got $65.00 since I forgot to bring the charger with me – which, still, WOOT!) that I agreed to. Then I asked if they could transfer everything over to my new phone. You know all those contacts that my carrier couldn’t help me transfer to my new iPhone? Yeah, Best Buy Mobile took care of that for me, too – and quick!!! I got up, went over to look at some cases and came back and he was done. Then he politely informed me that he would erase all of the data on my old phone in front of me so that I felt at ease about leaving it behind. I really appreciated that he showed me what he was doing every step of the way.  It made me feel a whole lot better about my decision knowing that my information wasn’t going to be passed around.

Since I’m really wanting a tablet, I decided I would save my gift card to use when I had a bit more money to spend.
