I love the sweet stuff, but rarely indulge in it. When I do, I go ALL out and bake like a fiend. One of my guilty pleasures is Hello Dolly cookie bars. They are so sweet and rich with flavor that I can never eat just one. Since I worked with Sixlets for December, I decided to add some holiday color to my Hello Dolly cookie bar recipe. Result? Delicious!
Ingredients:1 package graham crackers (one package, not the whole box), crushed – you can also use 1 cup of graham cracker crumbs 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 cup shredded coconut 1 cup chocolate chips 1 cup butterscotch chips 3/4 cup Holiday themed Sixlets 1/2 cup quick oats 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 4 Tbs butter or margarine
Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Use the butter or margarine to heavily grease the bottom and sides of a 11 x 7 baking dish.
Mix together the crushed graham crackers or graham cracker crumbs and quick oats and pour into the bottom of the baking dish. Pat down to form a crust.
Add the coconut and spread evenly over the graham cracker layer. Add the chocolate chips and spread evenly. Follow with the nuts, butterscotch chips and sixlets, spreading each layer as evenly as possible over the other.
Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the contents of the baking dish.
Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before cutting into bars.
