*Disclosure: This is a compensated review. I tried the free version of VolunteerSpot and, regardless of compensation, I am sharing my honest opinion of the site, my experience and my thoughts.*
Have you ever tried to manage a fundraiser? Get parents to help out with little league, scouts or other extracurricular activities? Make sure that you have enough people to help with an event you’re hosting?
It can be difficult to keep track of it all, let alone who said they’d do or bring something (and what that something is)! Of course, we all know that keeping track of this type of information is imperative for our events to run as smoothly as possible.
That’s where VolunteerSpot comes in.
What is VolunteerSpot?
I don’t care what it is, if you’re hosting something, you need a way to keep track of your attendees, helpers, etc. This brilliant site offers us all a simple, smart way to manage the sign up process of any event. The drop down option box makes it pretty simple to complete the initial sign up creation process within just a few minutes. You can create specific positions you need filled, supplies you need people to bring or just who will be attending.
I was recently tasked with the position of President of my son’s Cub Scout troop’s Parents Committee, so being introduced to VolunteerSpot just before this left me much less intimidated when I found out that I would be handling communications with troop parents. Below, you can see my very first event sign up for our troop.
Notice how it’s decorated a bit with a holiday theme? Yes, you can actually give your sign-ups a theme! Why not?
Had I known about this over the summer, I would have gotten my son’s T-ball team on board with it for snacks, drinks and practices. We’ll definitely be using it this year! Well, I will be since my other half is not so fond of computers.
Easy to Use – Create a Sign Up Sheet in Minutes!
What I really like about it though, is that even though my other half is not fond of computers, even he could manage to use VolunteerSpot and could most likely complete the process without having to ask me for help. The drop down menus and overall simplicity make it pretty easy to create sign-up forms for whatever you need. As you can see below, it’s also available on mobile, so it’s pretty versatile.
Below, you’ll see an example of a more specific sign-up sheet. This one requests specific items, but you can also request specific positions to be filled, specific time slots to be filled, etc. With several customization options available, there’s no limit to what you can create (or get help for) on VolunteerSpot!
Of course, finding out if there’s even any interest is also a necessity before you start pouring time into planning, right? Well, you can use VolunteerSpot for that, too!
The free option offers a fair amount of control and customization, but I did find myself wanting a bit more. To fulfill that desire, users can opt for the Premium version for a reasonable fee. If you’re going to be using it a lot and for a wide variety of sign ups or if you just prefer being able to offer more information to your guests/volunteers/etc, then the paid option might be a better choice for you. It really just depends on your preferences.
So what are you waiting for? Sign up for VolunteerSpot now and make light work of the sign up process for your next event! In fact, with the holidays coming up, this would be AMAZING to use for holiday gatherings where everyone brings a dish. Or even gift exchanges!
