Encourage fun with Angry Birds Star Wars products!

My family and I are huge fans of Angry Birds. In fact, when I’m not blogging or handling any of my motherly responsibilities, I often log on to play the Angry Birds game on Facebook. My son occasionally joins me and we “take turns” as he calls it, though he usually gets far more turns than I do.

I’m always looking for fun games for my kids, so when I was approached to review an Angry Birds Star Wars game, I think I actually did a little dance in my chair. Would this mean that I would now actually get the Facebook App all to myself? That question is still unanswered, but I do want to tell you about this super-cool game, so let me get on with that.

Angry Birds Star Wars Millennium Falcon Bounce Game Review

For the purpose of this review, I was provided with the Angry Birds Star Wars Millennium Falcon Bounce Game and an Angry Birds Star Wars Foam Flyers StormTrooper. You can see both of the brand new products in the images below.

When the package arrived at my doorstep, my son instantly saw the Angry Birds Star Wars sticker on the front of the box and started hopping around like a monkey, unable to control his excitement. “Hurry mom! Open it! Open it! I want to play it!” And as soon as I could locate the scissors to cut the tape on the box, I got it open. The Angry Birds Star Wars Foam Flyers StormTrooper came out easily, but we did have some trouble getting the Angry Birds Star Wars Millennium Falcon Bounce Game out of the box. It must have been cleverly fit to within a millimeter of the box because it was in there so snug that I shook it and banged on the bottom of the box for a good five minutes before I had moved it enough to get it out of the shipping box. Then it was off to put it together!

It looks like there was a lot of assembly required, but it really wasn’t all that difficult. It took us about twenty minutes to get it all put together – and yes, I let my son help! He got to decorate the inside of the box, which is supposed to resemble outer space – nice touch, Hasbro! We thought that little addition was very cool. He also helped me push the stickers down to make sure they didn’t come off. I love that he’s so eager to help!

So once we got the game all put together, the first image at the top of this post was the result. Pretty cool, right? To play the game, you place it on the table or floor and bounce the Angry Birds balls on the floor or table surface in an attempt to knock down the little cardboard bad guys. They have the Angry Birds versions of StormTroopers, Darth Vader and others – and the renditions are something that even die hard Star Wars fans will appreciate.

We’ve had lots of fun with the game so far and my son has been flying around the house with the Foam Flyers Storm Trooper, so I’m pretty sure that gets a thumbs-up from him, too!
