Shopping at Walgreens this week? Be sure to check out the deals that you can snag with this week’s Walgreens coupon match-up, courtesy of our friends at Clair’s Freebies.Walgreens Weekly – Scenarios for 4/15 through 4-21
What deals can you snag at Walgreens this week? Well, let’s see…
There are some super Walgreens deals this week for everyone to take advantage of. Yay!
I live in the St. Louis metropolitan area, so my Walgreens coupon match-ups may vary from websites that cater to other geographic locations. I do note national deals, but as many coupons are offered to specific geographic areas and at different values for such, I feel it’s only fair to mention that the coupons you have available in your area may vary.
You can purchase region-specific coupons on a variety of websites, such as eBay and various coupon clipping service sites.
Tips for Anyone New to Shopping at Walgreens
The first thing you need to know when shopping at Walgreens is that you can only have one manufacturer’s coupon per item, but you can use a manufacturer coupon (MC) and a Walgreens coupon (WC) on each item.
Walgreens also has a Register Rewards (RR) program that I like to take advantage of whenever possible, so you’ll see me discussing how to use those to your advantage. Register Rewards are little coupons that print out when you purchase certain items. These coupons are good for face value on your next purchase, providing that you don’t purchase the same item you received the RR for. For instance, if you received a RR for $4 from Colgate, you can’t use it to purchase more Colgate products. Instead, you have to use it on another product purchase. For this reason, you will see me breaking up transactions because that allows me to maximize my savings at Walgreens.
The one thing you should know about using Walgreens Register Rewards is that, in order to use them, you have to have a filler item or have an item in your purchase that you don’t have a manufacturer coupon for. However, you can use RRs with items that you have a Walgreens coupon for.
Walgreens does not double coupons, so keep your eye out at the stores near you that do. You may be able to find a better deal at one of these stores, and I’ll do my best to keep you updated if you can.

I will end up having almost as much in Register Rewards left as what I’m starting with, but I plan to purchase some of the Nice trash bags, some bottled water and possibly a few other items with a portion of mine.
Thanks for the tips Cuckoo for Coupons!

My Latest Trip to Walgreens 1-20-2012
Here’s why I LOVE shopping for Walgreens deals…
- Eight 12pks of Pepsi products
- 7 boxes of South Beach bars
- 2 Abrexin
- 3 Estroven for my mom
- 6 Lady Speedstick
- 1 gallon of milk
- 24 pk of Charmin double rolls
- 4 packs of Extra gum
- 3 Kotex
- 9 Snickers bars
- 6 bags of gummy bears
- 2 bags of chocolate covered raisins
- 25pk of Heavy Duty trash bags
- 1 box of zip seal sandwich bags
- 1 Whitman’s Sampler pack
- 4 Softsoap
- 3 Puffs tissues
- 2 Schick Quattro TrimStyle razors
Total of products before coupons, RR’s = $346.66
Total OOP = $38.69 and I still have a $6 RR left for next week!
I SAVED $307.97 – about 89%!!! Now that deserves a HELL YEAH!!!
On a side note…one of the supervisor girls at our new store is clearly not a fan of couponers. (And, yes; I’m polite and allow others to go in front of me, make sure to leave plenty of stock on the shelves and I’m always friendly, so not sure what her problem is, but hope she gets over it soon because she’s the only one I seem to have an issue with.) My mom went today and her Register Reward didn’t print for Benefiber. This girl actually told her that it was because she used a $5 off coupon and told her she couldn’t have her Register Reward for Benefiber – and she bought $3.89 MORE in Benefiber than what was required for the RR to go through in one transaction!
I really wish supervisors like her realized that just because we coupon does not mean that we are not paying customers. In fact, I think I’ll write the district manager a little letter to let him know how disappointed I am with the way that she treated my mother. I’ve done nothing but rave to him about how wonderful the new store has been, so I think it’s time he knew that one of his staff members is screwing couponing customers out of a Register Reward that was rightfully earned.
What would you do?
