Mia Mariu Restauracel-C Review

Mia Mariu RestauraCel-C Review - In Box Microdermabrasion made easy? That’s the story with Mia Mariu’s RestauraCel-C!

Ever get sick of feeling rough skin on your face? I know I’ve been frustrated with it a time or two and, as I’ve aged, I’ve noticed that the changing seasons take a toll on my skin much more now than they did in the past. Mia Mariu is a company known for the gentleness of their mineral makeup and skin care products. I was recently given the opportunity to review part of their skin care line, and chose to review the RestauraCel-C, as it is touted as a gentle alternative to microdermabrasion made specifically for use at home. It comes in a 2 piece set: Refinisher and Thermal Activator.

What are the ingredients in RestauraCel-C?

As we all know, there are certain ingredients that work wonders on the skin. So what are the magical ingredients in Mia Mariu RestauraCel-C? The Refinisher Cream contains Peg-6, Sodium Bicarbonate, Oleth-20, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Silica Silylate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Retinyl Palmitate, and Beta Carotene.

The Thermal Activator contains Water, Lactic Acid, Linoleamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Propylene Glycol, Ployquaternium-10, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, and Propylparaben.

Much like the microdermabrasion treatments that you receive at the spa, these products do make your skin more sensitive to the sun and increase the risk of sunburn, so it’s wise to limit your sun exposure when using these products. I limit my own exposure anyway due to sun sensitivities, so I have been especially careful since using these products.

Does Mia Mariu RestauraCel-C work? Mia Mariu RestauraCel-C Review

Applying RestauraCel-C is easy. The first step is to ensure that your skin is clean and dry. Next, gently apply the Refinishing cream to the skin. Immediately apply the Thermal Activator by massaging it into the skin in a circular motion without concentrating on any one area. Once you’ve massaged this around your face, then rinse your face thoroughly with warm water. That’s it – you’re done!

The results? Although I didn’t notice a big difference in the lines on my face, I did immediately notice that my skin felt a lot smoother, and my pores looked smaller. I’ve only used the product once at this point, but I do plan to continue using it, so I will update this post with my results over time.

Where can I purchase Mia Mariu RestauraCel-C?

RestauraCel-C can be purchased through any Mia Mariu representative or you cans shop Mia Mariu’s website. The RestauraCel-C set retails for approximately $55.00. As far as I know it is not available elsewhere.

Is Mia Mariu RestauraCel-C recommended?

If you’ve got large pores, fine lines and uneven skin tone, RestauraCel-C may be a good product for you. I have personally been happy with my experience so far and do plan to continue using the product.I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone that works outdoors, tans regularly or is unable to refrain from being exposed to the sun for more than 15 minutes at a time.

You can stay up to date on Mia Mariu’s newest product additions, sales and more by following them on Facebook. You can also tweet them on Twitter and pin all of your favorite products on Pinterest.

The quality of the cut flowers was nothing short of amazing. In fact, this pic was taken 2 days after I received the flowers and they still looked just as perfect as the day they arrived. So, for those of you that can’t be with your mom on Mother’s Day and would like to send flowers, mom should get at least a good week of enjoyment from them!

Puppet Monster Review – Frighteningly Fabulous and Fashionable!

My son having fun with the Puppet Monster

What’s colorful, fun and furry? A Puppet Monster!

I was recently given the opportunity to review the Puppet Monster. I was provided with the product in exchange for my honest opinion. Since I have a 4 yr. old son, I let him decide which one he wanted and he chose “Jumbo Eyes” since it’s his favorite color. He was very excited to find out that he would be getting one, so in the days following his selection, he regularly jumped up to look out the window every time he heard a large truck coming down the road. He is well aware of what the FedEx and UPS trucks sound like. He is, after all, my official package boy.

What is a Puppet Monster?

Puppet Monsters are on of the newest creations in kids toys. They are furry puppets that have a short, hollow body and long thin arms. The toy can be posed in different monster positions due to its hollow body and it can even be worn on the head as a hat to make the coolest fashion statement ever. The product’s unforgettable commercial shows all of the fun things that you can do with a Puppet Monster and, for the record, I think my son tried to do them all.

Puppet Monster Review

Puppet Monster ReviewWhen the package finally arrived, I think I was as excited as he was. My excitement was mostly because I had grown tired of being asked when his Puppet Monster would be here, but I was also very excited to see the product and watch his enjoyment as he opened and played with it. Oh…and play he did! But I’m a stickler for packaging, so let me cover that first.

The Puppet Monster was very well packaged, arriving in a nice-sized box and was cushioned/anchored into the box with packing paper that allowed for the product to be safely shipped. It was also bagged in a cellophane-type, sealed bag. I’m always impressed when a company takes the time to properly ship their products because it means that they recognize the importance of the product reaching the consumer undamaged.

You’ll also notice the orange at the bottom of this pic to the left. That’s actually a fabric carrying case, which my son and I both thought was a really cool addition.

I didn’t get a picture of the box, but I did snap a pic of the Puppet Monster while it was still in the cellophane bag – and I had to take it quick because my son absolutely could not wait to tear that bag open and get his new buddy out!Puppet Pet - Up Close

First Impression of the Puppet Monster

Since the face was already assembled when it arrived, he immediately stuck it on his head and had me help him get his little fingers into the finger loops. He then proceeded to sneak around the house, attempting to scare his sister, the dogs and his daddy. Dad and sis humored him and acted like he scared them half to death. The dogs, however, were pretty confused. They all backed away from him at first, then one got brave and decided to take a chance and sniff him. They quickly realized he wasn’t a threat, but their initial reaction was hilarious!

I love the fact that the product can be used in so many ways. Whether you put it on your head, set it on the ground, put it on a bedpost or any number of other places, there endless hours of fun to be had with Puppet Monsters. Our personal favorite was wearing it as a hat. The looks that we got from adults out in public were priceless, but the children with those adults all wanted to know what it was and where we got it. And we all know how persistent children can be! So, before long, we had parents coming up to us asking, “What is that on his head?” or “Would you mind telling me where you got that?” The kids that came up to us wanted to shake the Puppet Monster’s hand, and since my son is a pretty friendly guy, he stuck a hand out for every little kid that came near.

I personally love the fact that it can be worn as a hat – and it’s actually quite warm, too! It was a great way to get my son to keep a hat on during the last big cold wave we had earlier this week. In fact, it even came outside with us to build snowmen! I had to draw the line at it being put on one of the snowmen though.

The cool thing about Puppet Monsters is that you have the opportunity to change out their eyes, nose, ears, etc. with different pieces. The extra accessories can be placed in the fabric bag for safe keeping and easy accessibility later. Changing out the accessories is simple, too. Just flip the Puppet Monster upside down and turn it inside out to access the little clips. Simply turn them sideways and push them through the slots to remove. Then slide the clips of the new accessories in and you’ve got a brand new monster!

My son has really enjoyed the Puppet Monster and he wears it frequently. He loves the fact that he can put it on his head and control its arms with his fingers. Of course, he’s a boy, so he also enjoys the fact that it’s a monster. What little boy wouldn’t?

Peeking out from under his Puppet Monster

Gifts for Kids That Actually Last

Gifts for Kids That Will LastFinancial Gifts for Kids Shouldn’t Be Overlooked

If the thought of navigating the toy aisle in an attempt to find a cool and appropriate gift for a birthday boy or girl both bewilders and terrifies you, it may be time to try a new approach. Kids today are accustomed to being showered with gifts on birthdays, Christmas and any other time retailers can convince us to go shipping. Unfortunately, many of most desirable gifts are expensive electronics or cheaply made fad items with an absurd markup. If you’re willing to end the quest to give the coolest gift — which will likely be broken or forgotten in a matter of months — you can start concentrating on giving gifts that will last. Smart financial gifts will be valued for years to come. Here are five of the best gifts for kids to get you started and, maybe, help you build into a tradition.

Five Gifts for Kids That Will Mature as They Do

Savings Bonds

Savings bonds are pretty lackluster when it comes to curb appeal (so to speak) but in a decade or two they’ll be much appreciated. Cashing out bonds can help with defraying the cost of a wedding, increasing the down payment on a first home or any number of big life events. Cashing out bonds is simple, but it’s not so easy that the money can be accessed on the spur of the moment to be used frivolously.

Gold Coins

Gold coins are both interesting and guaranteed to increase in value. Throughout the history of the world, gold has been the most reliable standard of currency. Bank notes and semi-precious metals are interesting for collectors but rarely appreciate value. The US Money Reserve is one of the largest national distributors of government issued gold, silver and platinum coins. Just be sure they know these coins are meant for saving, not spending!

Stock

If you want to actively engage your young recipient you can make them a shareholder in a publicly traded company. Websites like Giveashare.com and Oneshare.com offer framed shareholder’s certificates to add a tangible aspect to the gift. You’ll also have something to talk about beyond the latest teen-pop sensation or must-have gadget. Learning about the economy is much more interesting and engaging when you have a stake in a company!

College Savings Contribution

Higher education is expensive, but necessary to build a healthy career in most fields. Contributing to a college savings plan can help defray that expense and limit the amount of student loans needed. One of the most popular savings plans is a 529 plan. Contributions must be used for educational purposed by the designated beneficiary. Investment earnings accrue tax-free and gift tax rules don’t kick in unless a gift over $13,000 is given.

Retirement Contribution

Anyone with an earned income can contribute to a Roth IRA. A limit of $5,000 or the total of their earned income (whichever is less) is the maximum yearly contribution. For teenagers with a job, then, you could offer to match their income to a certain level with the caveat that the gift is put into a Roth IRA. The gift of learning money management and savings is one that will keep giving.

How To Learn The Piano

How to Learn to Play PianoLearning how to play the piano can be a very musically rewarding experience. Beethoven’s 9th Symphony is one of history’s most well-known tunes, after all. Door bells have this tune done packed and even Windows; it is one of the songs listed in the sample music file.

There is a lot of greatness left to be discovered at the piano still and if you are keeping the idea of learning how to play the piano in the back of your mind, you just might regret it.

If you or your children are keen on how to learn the piano, then start learning today instead of getting around to it later. But learning how to play the piano, of course takes a lot of practice and commitment because you are learning where the notes are located at the same time while you are learning how to read music sheets.

You could go straight into a band to keep up your practice sessions regularly but that comes much later after you have become competent. For beginners, purchasing a reasonable electric keyboard is a good starting point. Once you develop a strong interest, and improve you skills, you can also graduate to a piano.

Piano lessons in your local area are a good way to get started, but they will require a time and money investment. Alternatively, piano guide books at your local music store or borrow them at the library.  If books are not your thing, then you may even consider software music tools such as Garage Band to learn with. This ingenious software has lessons created by the professionals and if you purchase a USB keyboard you can start to record your masterpieces. There are also many YouTube videos to be discovered and these videos will teach you the basics including how to read sheet music.

It is advisable to get familiar with reading music while you learn how to play. Once you have decided on which route you are going to take with learning how to play the piano, it is good to warm up your fingers well by stretching before you play in order to avoid strain on your hands.

Also while you play the piano, let your hands hang and just move your fingers. In the beginning, practice every day when you can for at least half an hour to one solid hour. It is also helpful to practice playing covers of your favorite songs. It is up to you how fast you want to excel in your piano playing skill.

Personal Responsibility with Personal Finance: Acknowledge the Pitfalls and Fix Your Mistakes

Personal Finance - Budget for Your LifestyleThere’s no personal finance without taking personal responsibility.

You can say what you want about external factors but much of your financial situation is one brought on by yourself. Sure, there are those unexpected moments when you have to burn through savings (such as a major car incident) but the point of personal finance is to get you set up with proper money management regardless of how much you bring home.

The main elements of personal finance

PF comes down to just a few small actions to make the biggest difference in money management:

  • Understanding where your money comes and goes
  • Developing a routine for your savings
  • Creating a safety net through an emergency fund
  • Expanding your options and growing your wealth

Many people live outside their means which drives them to pitfalls and financial ruin. The best action one can take is to embrace a frugal lifestyle. No, you’re not being cheap and you’re not eating lentils every night – frugality is a way of life which trains your mind into understanding the smart, logical choices for your money.

Acknowledge what you’re doing wrong

It’s time to “man up” to how you’re spending your income:

  • Do you continually upgrade gadgets that don’t truly need upgrading?
  • Do you splurge on dining out when you could stay in and cook?
  • Are you failing to maintain your housing, transportation, and health?

These are but a few examples that many people let slip which eventually starts a snowball effect on their debt. Being unprepared for life’s curve-balls is what will drive you off the cliff of financial stability.

The only way you can truly fix your money mistakes is by knowing what’s causing them.

Take a cold, hard look at your finances and you’ll quickly realize what needs to be done; it’ll be an uphill battle but clamoring out of debt, setting a workable budget, and living within your means will give you a stress-free lifestyle that has no limits.

Get things in motion

One great way to get things moving is to undertand where you currently stand financially. This can be done by creating a basic budget or by using a resource like MyMoneyCheckup.org; a website and tool created in part by the Social Security Administration’s Financial Literacy Research Consortium (that’s a mouthful), funding from Ohio State University, and the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (which has been active since 1951 offering guidance on credit and debt reduction).

The tool itself is about as simple as you can get but packs a punch when it comes to personal finance education.

The tool will take you through a questionnaire in the main categories of money (budgeting, borrowing, savings, housing, retirement, and more). When you work through this tool and run the report, you’ll see the areas which need improvement; these areas are marked by green (good), yellow (okay), and red (bad).

Action steps:

  1. Come to terms with your ability to manage your money
  2. Understand where your money is going by using the MyMoneyCheckup tool
  3. Use the financial calculator (on the site) to reconfigure your finances
  4. Begin the process of rebuilding your financial education with the included resources

A simple 5 – 10 minute process, using the tool (which is also now available in Spanish) will give you the jump-start on “owning” your mistakes. It’s unfortunate that personal finance isn’t a skill most taught throughout school but one which you discover but there’s no reason to wait any longer – get started right this moment and you’ll never again need to be on the lower end of your finances.

You can find this helpful financial tool and resources over at MyMoneyCheckup.org.

Ten Baby Names That Really Should Have Remained Just Options

Baby Wyatt in the WombChoosing a baby name can be a daunting task. Many parents have different ideas in mind when they embark upon this quest to name their sweet little bundle of joy. For boys, parents often consider strong-sounding names, symbols of masculinity and names that represent generations past. For girls, many parents consider names that sound feminine, represent beauty, kindness or delicacy. Like boys who inherit names from fathers or grandfathers, baby girls also often inherit names from the matriarchs of their family, frequently as a middle name. This is traditional and, yes, normal.

Today, it seems that lots of  parents are just looking for wild, “outside the box” names that are more unique than anything else. And it doesn’t matter what that uniqueness really stands for. For instance, celebrity Gwyneth Paltrow garnered many a snicker when she named her baby “Apple” and Beyonce and Jay-Z chose “Blue Ivy” for their new addition. The idea behind these names? To be honest, I’m still not sure. More recognition, perhaps? The bad thing is that these names didn’t even come close to the most ridiculous names I’ve ever heard.

In light of that, I wanted to share with you the top ten baby names that made me laugh so hard just thinking about them that I almost peed myself. A special thanks to my son for that oh-so-common occurrence. Maybe I should have named him “Bladder Destruction” or “Little Nugget” and his name could have made this list.

Ten Off the Wall Baby Names

10. Audio Science – Interestingly enough, this is the name that Shannyn Sossamon named her baby and not the name of a college offering. I’m thinking that she might want to further her education a bit so that she can come up with a much more clever name next time around. Maybe Business Analysis? Think of the possibilities! Your daughter could go by Busy for short – something every parent dreams of for their daughter, right? And let’s not even mention the many twists that could occur with the middle name. Yes, clever parents, keep giving your children these ridiculous names and one day we will see this combination come to fruition.

9. Jermajesty – I can think of many reasons that Jermaine Jackson might have come up with this name and all of them are ridiculous. My first thought? This isn’t a name. It’s what I would sound like addressing the queen if I ever met her while severely intoxicated. (Which, by the way, would be just my luck.)

8. Moon Unit – I don’t think it’s possible to have a list like this without mentioning Frank Zappa’s name choices for his kids. I’m hoping that this one is in some reference to the conception of the child because I honestly don’t see any other off the wall reason to come up with a name like this…except maybe drug use. Heavy, heavy drug use. See #7 for another example.

7. Diva Thin Muffin – Really? Doesn’t that whole name just completely contradict itself? Has anyone on the face of the planet ever seen a “thin” muffin? And if they have, did they really think it was diva-quality?

6. Facebook – What. the. hell. I would rather follow in Zappa’s footsteps than name my baby after Zuckerburg’s social media empire. I mean, Facebook is cool and all, but I’d rather not give anyone the impression that my child would grow up to be publicly traded.

5. Hashtag – Yes, your child will likely be able to see it’s icon millions of times per day on Twitter until something better comes along, which is likely to be long before that little bundle of joy is capable of using social media to effectively communicate. I imagine that if you want a reason to smile every time you say your child’s name, this is a fair choice because I’d be laughing at myself every time I said it. Better yet, imagine a time in the future when your child gets out of your sight at the park. You run around the area screaming for Hash. “Have you seen Hash?” “Have any of your kids been around Hash?” “I could have sworn that I saw your little Johnny playing with Hash earlier.” Imagine the sheer fright that you’d be sending to parents just by asking about your child!

4. Pilot Inspektor – Jason Lee, what on earth were you thinking when you named your son this? If that child doesn’t have issues as an adult, it will only be because of the Zero Tolerance Bullying policies that schools are putting into effect. Seriously, if you were one of my friends, I would have smacked you in the forehead and handed you a V-8.

3. Inny – Unfortunately, this isn’t a nickname or shortened form of anything. It’s just “Inny” and for some reason, I find that oddly disturbing. When we start naming our kids after belly buttons, what has the world come to? I guess I should be thankful that they didn’t name her “Outie” or, for a more brand-worthy spelling, “Audi.”

2. Hippo – Moms, we all probably feel like we’re carrying a hippo in our third trimester, but that does not mean that it’s okay to name your baby after this enormous mammal. Please remember: Kids can be really mean.

1. Sanity – I love the concept. I really do. Unfortunately, sanity is NOT what I think of when I think of parenthood. As much as I love my kids, I’m thinking that the person that came up with this name is living in some sort of alternate world where reality ceases to exist. Let’s review the realities of parenthood real quick: Lack of sleep? Check. No free time? Check. Constant nagging? Check. Constant worry? Check. Financial stress? Check. Now that we’ve covered why Sanity is not a proper name for a child, let’s add a prefix. In-sanity. Now that’s more appropriate.

What to Consider When Naming Your Baby

Look, I’m not urging you to be normal. I’m just asking you to think about the consequences for your child before you name them. Unique names are awesome, but if the uniqueness of it doesn’t outweigh the ridicule that your child is going to face in the future, then you’re essentially setting your child up for mockery and that’s just not cool. So I want you to have fun choosing a name for your baby, really I do, but don’t have so much fun that you name your baby something that you and your future child will regret later. Just because no one else has ever named their child Hogwart Buttkiss Galvanometer doesn’t mean that you have to be the first.

Heard of another crazy baby name that you think should be on this list? Leave me a comment below. If I laugh so hard I have to change my underwear, I’ll add it to the list!

Thrifty Grocery Shopping Doesn’t Mean Buying Junk Food

Fruits - A Healthier Way to Spend Your Grocery Dollars

Many people are eating junk food because they are low on cash and think they cannot afford anything better. Unfortunately, this poverty mentality becomes a vicious cycle. When you eat junk, you tend to have less energy, which makes it harder to improve your situation, which leads you to buy more junk. The good news is that you don’t have to buy junk even if you are trying to watch your pennies. There are many ways you can save money while eating healthy foods.

Buy Non-Perishables in Bulk

Items such as nuts and seeds make healthier snacks than cookies and candy. You can save money on these items by buying them in bulk. They don’t go bad so if you buy large amounts, you can use them over a period of six months or more. This is far cheaper in the long run than buying small packages.

Get Fresh Produce at Your Local Farmers Market

If you’re looking for fresh fruits and vegetables at reasonable prices, visit your local Farmers’ Market. You can usually get vegetables for up to 2/3 cheaper than you would if you shopped at a grocery store. If you don’t have a Farmers Market nearby, look for small, locally run grocery stores instead of shopping at chain stores. These stores may feature lower prices and higher quality foods.

Look For Manufacturers Coupons

One of the best ways to save money on healthy foods is to get coupons directly from the manufacturer. Look on the websites for you favorite brands. Often, you can get a coupon if you visit the site or sign up for the manufacturer’s mailing list. These coupons can add up to significant savings on your grocery bills.

Sometimes you can also find manufacturers coupons on products themselves. Some products have coupons right on them that you can peel off and use at the register. Other products have coupons that you can cut out when you are finished using the product and save for your next purchase.

Get Store Discount Cards

Most grocery stores have discount savings programs. In addition to buying healthy foods when they are on sale, look online for discounts. If you go to your store’s website, you can “load” electronic coupons onto your store card, which can translate into lots of savings.

Look For Manager’s Specials

Another way to save money on healthy foods is to look for items the store wants to sell quickly. Meat, yogurt and even some vegetables are often put on special towards the end of the week or as it gets close to the sell-by date. These items are perfectly good and can be frozen if you aren’t going to use them right away.

Avoid Frozen Foods

Many people think healthy food is too expensive because they are thinking of frozen vegetables or “diet” TV dinners. These types of foods are often far more expensive than fresh ingredients.

If you want to eat more healthily, try buying fresh vegetables and other ingredients and cooking them yourself. Although it takes more time to prepare food yourself, the food you eat will be healthier and will cost you less money.

As you can see, there are plenty of ways to save money while buying healthy items. If you set your mind to it, you can find ways to be healthy on a budget.

Easy Ways to Save When You Shop

Save Money with These Easy Tips

With the economy in shambles and job security growing more uncertain, it is more important than ever to sock away every penny you can. There are many ways to keep more in your pocket, whether it is by saving on utility bills or learning how to get more product for less cash. I prefer the latter, because I am working on building a stockpile for my family.

There are many ways to save money when you shop, but most consumers simply don’t take the time to take advantage of them all. Of course, if you don’t follow personal finance gurus, money-saving bloggers or have close friends and family members to teach you, it can be a long journey. Below are a few tips to help you on your quest to save more cash and boost your budget.

Coupons – of course!

Coupons are a fabulous way to stretch your shopping dollar. Whether you are shopping for groceries, clothing, shoes or services, there’s a good chance that you can find a coupon to help offset those costs. This may be a monetary amount off of a certain item, a monetary amount off of your entire purchase or a percentage off of your purchase. Obviously, coupons vary from product to product and from store to store. If you want to save the most money when you shop, you have to do your research.

Shop the Sales

There’s something to be said for a fabulous sale – it’s true. Black Friday is one example of an almost guaranteed day to save. However, there are also big sales at many other points during the year that you shouldn’t overlook. Back to school sales are usually held in mid-late July or early August. You’ll find tax season sales from early March – April 15th. You’re also going to find goods on sale around each of the major holidays. I’ve noticed that the sales are usually better up to a week before the holiday you are shopping for. Of course, the best sales are the ones we don’t expect, so always keep your eyes and ears open.

Price Matching

Price matching is something that several stores are doing nowadays. Because of this, many savvy shoppers are able to waste less gas and less money by getting more of the items they want at one store. What is price matching? When an item is on sale and listed in the sale ad for a specific store, but another store (let’s use Walmart as an example) offers price matching, you can shop at the price matching store. When you get to the register, simply show the sale ad from the other store to the cashier and you will receive it for the competitor’s advertised sale price. Please note that any price match items do have to be the same brand, size or advertised style.

Research Products Online

If you want to make sure that the items you purchase will fit within your budget, then you’ve got to do your homework. Sites like PriceGrabber.com, Inc can really make a big difference when you’re dead-set on saving every dime you can. Sites like this allow you to instantly check for the best price available. You can use these sites to find the best deals on a wide variety of items, but I have the most success with clothing and shoes. In fact, yesterday I saw Levi’s jeans were on sale for $21.99! That’s a deal! Want to make that deal better? Pair it with a coupon!

Rewards – Use Them!

Whether you have a store loyalty card or have managed to get the nifty little Catalina’s to print out some spendable credit at your store of choice, you have to be sure you spend it. Don’t let those rewards go unused and certainly don’t wait until they expire to realize what you’ve got! That’s free money that you’re throwing away if you do! In fact, many of us couponers use these rewards to help lower our out of pocket cost and build our stockpiles with ease. Check out one of our store match-ups to get a better idea of how you can use these wonderful little blessings.

Don’t Shop Hungry

It might sound silly, but I promise you it’s not. Shopping while you’re hungry can influence not only the amount of food you purchase, but the types of foods you purchase. This is a new year. If you want to stay on track, you can’t set yourself up for defeat by going to the grocery store with a rumbling tummy. Grab a bag of trail mix, a granola bar, a handful of almonds or cashews – anything that is going to help tide you over until you can make it to the store and back. I guarantee it will make a difference.

Mix It Up!

Don’t limit yourself to just one method of saving. There are so many fabulous ways to help keep more of your money in your pocket that it just makes good sense to combine them. Use coupons, rewards and sale prices together whenever possible and I promise you that you will start to see a huge difference in what you spend while shopping – providing you don’t spend what you save on something you really don’t need.
